Private Lessons

Private lessons can be started at any time of the year, simply email us with the following information:

Returning Private Students

For continuing private lessons, returning students MUST re-register every term. 

Current CIM students **You now have your own customer portal that you can log into from the registration form.  Click on "enroll", go into "already a customer" and enter the email address that we have on file for you.  A password will be sent to your inbox.  Once you log in, you'll be able to edit your account, see your balance, register with a few clicks at the start of every term and pay for classes with a credit card.  We hope you like our new online registration system!  Please contact us if you have any complications.

We accept payment by credit card online or check by mail. Hard copy registrations can be mailed or put it in the drop box at the CIM office. For questions, send Emily an e-mail at admin@centerforirishmusic.org.

Cost of Private Lessons

30 minute private lesson $28*
45 minute private lesson $42
60 minute private lesson $56
30 minute semi-private lesson $20 per student

*Students in student and adult ensembles receive a 10% discount on private lessons since one lesson a month is required to be in those ensembles.

Required Items for All Students

  • An instrument
  • A recording device
  • Small notebook

Note: The Center does have a few instruments available for loan. Please contact us if you are in need of an instrument. 

Registration Fee

All Center for Irish Music students must pay an annual registration fee upon registration in the Fall. The fees are $20 per student under 18 with a $50 cap per family. The registration fee is is valid from September to September.

Family Discount Policy

When you register one family member for classes at full tuition, each member of your immediate family will receive a 5% discount for any CIM class for that same term. To get this discount, you must register by the first day of the term for which you are registering.

Attendance

Students and the instructors agree to the number and length of private lessons per trimester. Weekly lessons are preferred since we find that students progress much faster with weekly lessons. Private lesson teachers have reserved time for each student. Regular attendance at lessons is very important for the student’s progress. If a lesson must be skipped for medical or emergency reasons, a 24-hour notice is required or it will count as a missed lesson and student will be charged for the teacher's time. Call or email the Center for Irish Music at 651- 815-0083 or admin@centerforirishmusic.org to give your 24-hour notice. Rescheduling differs for each private lesson and is determined by The Center for Irish Music.
