Administrative Information & Policies

Payment Policy: Payment must be received at the time of registration, (no later than the second class/lesson meeting). Payment is accepted via PayPal, check, or cash. Checks are payable to The Center for Irish Music and mailed to 836 Prior Ave North, Saint Paul, MN 55104. Please do not send cash through the mail. There is a drop box in which to place checks or cash payments outside of the Center for Irish Music Office for your convenience. Please include either a copy of the invoice or the student’s name, class, or lesson information and any other information to correctly record the payment. If a student falls behind payments they will not be allowed to enroll in future classes until payment is received or a satisfactory payment schedule has been met.

Attendance Policy: All tuition is based on enrollment, not attendance. No refunds are made for missed lessons.

Group Classes: Group classes meet 10 times throughout the term, unless otherwise noted. Students are expected to attend all group classes. No group classes will be repeated due to the absence of individual students.

Private Lessons: Students and the instructors agree to the number and length of private lessons per trimester. Tuition is $28 per 30-minute lesson. Weekly lessons are preferred since we find that students progress much faster with weekly lessons. However, semi-weekly and flexible schedules are offered depending on instructor availability. Private lesson teachers have reserved time for each student. Regular attendance at lessons is very important for the student’s progress. If a lesson must be skipped for medical or other reasons, a 24-hour notice is required or it will count as a missed lesson. Call or email the Center for Irish Music at 651-815-0083 or admin@centerforirishmusic.org to give your 24-hour notice. Rescheduling differs for each private lesson and is determined by The Center for Irish Music.

Family Discount Policy: When you register one family member for classes at full tuition, each additional member of your immediate family will receive a 10% discount for any CIM class for the same semester. To get this discount, you must register before the start of the term.

Withdrawal Policy: Group classes: A 100% refund will be given for Group Classes or Ensembles if written notice is received via email or post within two business days after the first class.

Private lessons: Notice of withdrawal and requests for refunds must be received by the Center via email or post within two weeks of the start of a semester. Verbal notices or requests will not be accepted. Refunds, if applicable, are based on the number of lessons scheduled or taken. No refunds after will be given after the fifth week/class. The registration fee is nonrefundable.

Cancellation Policy: The Center reserves the right to cancel classes or ensembles with insufficient enrollment. A minimum of 4 students is required to run a group class. Classes or ensembles that do not meet minimum enrollment 24 hours before the first meeting may be canceled. In the event a class is canceled, you will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another class. If you do not enroll in another class you will receive a full refund.

These policies are subject to change.
