Beginner Youth Courses

New this year!  We have a special course designed just for beginners!  The beginner’s course will introduce curious students to a wide range of Irish instruments.  This will be Hands-On fun, no experience neccessary!  Learn a tune or two on a pennywhistle, a song in Irish and English, try a fiddle, bodhran, harp, accordion and more!  Students in the beginner course will also have fun learning some simple Irish dancing and trying a creative project.  If students are willing, they may perform a piece together at the 3pm Sunday Session.  Suitable for students entering grade 2 to grade 8.

Saturday, June 20
10-11:15am - Intro to Pennywhistle
11:30-12:45pm - Singing Sweeties
1-2pm - Lunch (BYO or Jimmy Johns Sandwiches)
2-3pm – Meet the Instruments (hands on!)
3-3:15pm – Break
3:30-4:30pm - Intro to Irish Dance
4:30-5:30 – OPTIONAL cultural presentation by scholar

Sunday, June 21
12-12:30pm – Pennywhistle Review
12:45-1:30pm – Craft Project
2-3pm - Song and Dance – prepare for the show at 3pm!
3-4:30pm – OPTIONAL Session – possible performance!
