The 2026 Great Session Experience will bring together the Twin Cities Irish music community for sessions and a céilí at the Celtic Junction Arts Center.
There will be a cash bar. Musicians and non-musicians alike are invited to join in the fun!

- Great Outdoor Session | CJAC Outdoor Stage
Led by Diarmuid Ó Meachair, Laura Feddersen, Mary Vanorny & John McCormick
Variety of tunes played fast at session speed.
- Keegan's Learner Session | East Side lot (next to the radio tower)
Led by Pat Lyles, Sook Jin Ong & John Mathews
Mostly common tune repertoire at slower speeds. Sheet music not provided but ok to use.
- Picnic Party Teen Session | Picnic Tables in front of the Celtic Junction
Led by June McCormack, Michael Rooney & Norah Rendell
Variety of tunes from our CIM youth, played at groovy speeds.
- Traditional Singers Club Session | CIM Scanlan Music Hall
Led by Dáithí Sproule, starts at 7:30pm
No instruments, only voices.

Céilí
- Ceili | CJAC Studio
Band: Morien McBurnie & CIM Alums, Caller: Justin O’Carrick
New in 2026, we are hosting a céilí community dance in the Celtic Junction Performance Hall called by Justin O’Carrick with live music to celebrate MIM and the summer solstice. Come at 7 to play a few tunes at a session or grab a drink before the first dance at 7:30pm. Justin will start with simple kid & beginner-friendly dances.
