We are currently offering lessons and classes both online and in person.

The Center for Irish Music offers instrumental and singing classes for children, youth and adults taught by world-class teachers both privately and in a group setting. CIM also offers Irish music workshops throughout the year including the Minnesota Irish Music Weekend in early June. Year-round instruction is organized in three semesters:

  • Fall (17 weeks)
  • Spring (16 weeks) and
  • Summer (10 weeks)

COVID-19 Information: Fully vaccinated individuals can take in-person lessons at CIM. Unvaccinated students under the age of 12 may have the option of in-person lessons, pending permission from admin, instructors and parents/guardians. Please see our policies page for more details, including our COVID-19 safety practices and reporting guidelines.

Private Lessons: Private lesson enrollment is ongoing, but openings often become available in the 6-8 weeks leading up to a new term. Registration is done manually through our registration coordinator, Lily. For more information about private lessons, go to Private Lessons tab. One-off or trial lessons may be available, subject to instructor availability. Contact Lily for more information.

Group Classes: Group class offerings for youth and adults are organized by term. We also offer mini-classes that are 6-8 weeks long. To see all of our classes listed by name, click on the A to Z Index above. Use the filters to navigate, or visit our fall course catalog (link above).

Ensembles: To play in a CIM ensemble, musicians must also be taking private lessons from a CIM instructor. Contact us with any questions. See the adult and youth class and ensemble pages for more details.
