The Center for Irish Music Advanced Youth Ensemble is a year-round program for experienced youth musicians who love to play with others. Musicians in this ensemble have a large repertoire of tunes, learn quickly by ear and have the skills to play Irish traditional music with great rhythm and style. Throughout the year, musicians from this group will perform at local festivals and events while developing unique and beautiful repertoire (and working on it in a group of mixed instruments), including the Irish Fair of Minnesota.

In 2022, musicians will be working with a team of instructors including principal weekly instructors Norah Rendell and Mary Vanorny, with additional (occasional) teaching by Danny Diamond and artistic support from Brian Miller (choosing material, chords, and attending various outreach performances etc). Harpist Hannah Flowers will be supporting the repertoire and arranging for the grúpa ceoil through her work with the with harp ensemble.

Due to the large group of AYE musicians this year, we are assuming students will continue in the Spring. If you wish to opt out of AYE or the céilí bands, please notify both Norah and Lily by January 10th, 2021.
