Come join us for a céilí dance to celebrate Beltane and to have fun. This event is open to anyone regardless of skill level; we’ll teach the steps and the dances! Music will be provided by the Center for Irish Music Céilí Band.

Center for Irish Music Instructors John McCormick (accordion), Kate Wade (flute), Rosa Wells (fiddle), and Sean Egan (piano), coordinated by the one and only Mary Vanorny (fiddle, and coordinator), will provide the backbone of the tunes with amplification!  Dmitri Alano (leader of the Indianapolis Céilí Band) will be joining the band on flute as well!
CIM is inviting all students to join in on sets on the stage. Student musicians, please rsvp directly to Mary at mvanorny@centerforirishmusic.org to get the set list.

Admission at the door will be $10 for adults and $5 for those 17 and under.

Schedule:
6:30p-7p - Lesson focusing on steps and terms
7p - 9p - Dance (with teaching of the dances)
If you are unfamiliar with what céilí dancing is, it is a form of social dance that is found in Ireland (and elsewhere). It shares lineage with square dancing and barn dances found in the U.S.
